The main part in behavioral disorders in the childhood and youth constitute attention deficits. Parents and children are usually helpless against this problem.
If you have a hunch your child suffers from attention deficit disorder, you can register your child at the Hochschulambulanz für Kinder, Jugendliche und ihre Familien (HAKIJU).
At the HaKiJu we offer a group program (Mini-Attentioner) where children learn to get along better with the attentions deficit. On doing so, competences, which are especially essential for the school, are promoted in a playful way.
Thus, the training contains especially designed exercises and games, where the child learns:
To promote self-sufficiency and frustration tolerance children get weekly homework ('Secret missions').
By using a system of rewards, where the children can collect points and so earn rewards, the motivation shell be ensured.
Children having the problems mentioned on top represent an extraordinary challenge for the parents. Often, parents instructions are ignored, agreements will not be observed or there are problems at play with other children or the siblings. Therefore structure, consequences and communication are important parts in the parenting.
While the children take part in the Mini-Attentioner program, the parents visit the Tubinger-Intensity-Program for parents (Tipe).
The Mini-Attentioner training program takes place in 12 weekly sessions (à 60 minutes) with a group of 4-6 children. The Tipe parent sessions are at 4 evenings (1. Session 180 minutes, 2.-4. Session 120 minutes). If it´s possible, we recommend both parent to participate. Befor the training begins, there will be a preliminary talk in a group with you and your child and a detailed diagnosis to get an impression of the child's difficulties and if the program fits to your child and you.
